clean and distortion sense kemper

Input: clean & distortion sense kemper amp

Hi, I’m Thomas from Liveplayrock and today let’s learn how to adjust the “sense” section of the kemper!…and above all understand what the hell these parameters are!

But first of all SUBSCRIBE now to my YouTube channel!

Input, clean and distortion sense!

The INPUT section is very useful for optimizing the kemper rig (profile) according to your guitar!

To access the INPUT section and to be able to modify or check it, you will need to press the INPUT button at the top left of the kemper. Once you click on the button, some parameters will appear to optimize your sound according to the guitar used!

“We all have guitars with different pickups and therefore different outputs!”

INPUT SOURCE (Front) refers to the main input where we usually put the guitar jack. Alternatively, there is the alternative input located behind the kemper.

CLEAN SENSE: allows you to adjust the “Loudness” of clean sounds! To adjust the clean sense you must have the gain at zero and from there you can adjust the parameter!

Remember that the default volume “0” is usually a good tuning point! Let’s see how you can adjust the Loudness levels. Try to find a good balance between the clean sound and the more gain sound!

If you raise the parameter too much, you will have the volume of the clean higher than the gain of the profile. If you turn down too many, the opposite will happen, ie your clean sound will be lower than the rig’s gain increase!

DIST SENSE: it’s a compensator! Using the same distorted kemper rig with different guitars leads to different results!

I personally like to have different responses, but for work you may need to use different guitars but have to have the same sonic impact with distortion … so you can compensate your rig!

If we turn up the parameter (usually about 3 – 4 dB) we can better level the distorted sound for guitars with different output!

A guitar with high output pickups will tend to sound more distorted than using a guitar with lower output. This parameter is used to understand this technical aspect!
