With the kemper turned on, let’s press the SYSTEM button. By doing so we enter the kemper settings and moving with the PAGE button we go to page number 4. This page is called AUDIO SETUP and inside there is the parameter called RIG X FADE TIME.

This is an interesting function that allows, during the switch between one rig and another, to keep a minimum of sound from the previous rig.

Let’s take a very simple example: if you are playing a solo with Delay and rev, and then press on the rhythm rig with a crunch sound with no other effects, depending on how you have set this parameter, you will have the possibility to keep (for tenths of a second) the previous sound, for a less drastic and softer transition between one rig and another.

The name “X fade time” gives a good idea … the previous sound drops slightly to take over the new sound coming!
Kemper lets you set how long you want the previous sound to last over the next.
ATTENTION, the more you increase the time, the more you could slow down the work of the machine, so I recommend you stay between 0.5 and 1.5

Once set, do all the tests according to your needs and found your parameter, you can press exit and everything will be saved automatically!

Thank you!
